How To Remove Windows Media Player 9 Beta (811254)

SYMPTOMSWhen you install Windows Media Player (WMP) 9 beta, there is
no option to remove the program in the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control
Panel.CAUSEThis behavior is by design.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use the appropriate method below for
your operating system. Method 1: Microsoft Windows XPUse the System Restore feature in Windows XP to return to a
restore point that is before your installation of WMP 9 beta. To do so, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, point to All
Programs, point to Accessories, point to
System Tools, and then click System
Restore.
- In the System Restore Wizard, click Restore my
computer to an earlier time, and then click
Next.
- In the first box, click a date on the calendar that is
before the date that you installed WMP 9 beta. In the second box, select a
restore point, if one is available for that date.
Note Dates that have restore points available appear in bold
type. - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the system
restore process.
