Excel 2003
To resolve this issue in Excel 2003, add the following registry key. The fix is included in the initial release of Excel 2003. Therefore, there is no hotfix to download for this version of Excel.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious

To activate this hotfix, follow these steps:
- Start Registry Editor.
- Locate and then click the following key in the
registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click DWORD Value. Name this DWORD
value QFE_Bonn.
- On the Edit menu, click
Modify.
- Set Value data to 1, and then click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.

This problem is corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3.

The following hotfix reverts Excel 2002 to the functionality
of Microsoft Excel 2000 where this particular issue is
concerned.
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

After you apply the fix, you must add registry keys to the
registry to activate the fix. To do this, follow these steps.
