Pocket Streets 2003: "Pocket Streets Does Not Support the Connected Device Type" Error Message When You Try to Install Pocket Streets (811013)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install the Microsoft Pocket Streets 2003
component of Microsoft Streets & Trips 2003 on a Pocket PC that is running
Microsoft Windows CE 3.0 (or later), you may receive an error message that is
similar to the following: Microsoft Pocket Streets does
not support the connected device type: The applications manager will make the
application available for when a supported device is
connected. CAUSEThis issue may occur if your Pocket PC device uses an SH3
processor. This issue may also occur with the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Jornada 520
or 540 series Handheld PC.
Pocket Streets 2003 requires a Pocket PC
device that uses an ARM or MIPS processor. Pocket PC devices that use other
types of processors are not supported in Pocket Streets 2003. For example,
Handheld PCs or Palm-size PCs are not Pocket PC devices, and are not supported
in Pocket Streets 2003.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, follow these steps. Note The following procedure applies only to the English version of
Pocket Streets 2003.
- Make sure that one of the following programs is installed
on your desktop computer:
