CAUSE
This behavior occurs if the swing gauge of a player is
slower than the game expects. Links 2003 monitors the cadence of the swing and
determines if the cadence is too slow. This behavior is by design. Because a
slower swing can make the golf swing easier to control, Links 2003 informs all
players by displaying the message that appears in the "Symptoms" section of
this article.
A slow swing gauge can result if one or more of the
following conditions is true:
- Your computer's video adapter or CPU does not meet the
minimum requirements for Links 2003.
- The driver for your video adapter or sound card is
outdated.
- Your computer is low on available memory.
- Other programs are running in the background that interfere
with game performance.
- The graphic settings in the game are set too
high.
- Your computer uses a WinModem.
RESOLUTION
To troubleshoot and improve swing speed, use any of the
following methods. After you try each method, test to see if the issue is
resolved and swing gauge speed improves. If game performance does not
satisfactorily improve, try another of the methods.

Additionally, to optimize multiple-player game performance, make
sure that the host has the fastest processor and the best Internet connection.
If your computer uses a WinModem, make sure that the latest drivers are
installed for the WinModem. Contact the modem manufacturer for information
about how to obtain and install the latest drivers.
If possible, do
not use a dial-up connection to connect to the Internet to play a

play.
