The 3270 client cannot list more than 10 LUs when using Active Directory (810524)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 SP1
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004

SYMPTOMS

The 3270 Client (Win3270.exe) displays a maximum of ten 3270 LUs/Pools in its LU or Pool Name drop-down list when the Host Integration Server client is configured to use Active Directory for resource location.

This behavior does not occur with third-party 3270 emulators.

WORKAROUND

Reconfigure the Host Integration Server clients to locate Host Integration Server servers through the use of a subdomain name or server name instead of through the Active Directory. The 3270 client can display more than ten 3270 LUs/Pools when the Host Integration Server client locates servers by means of the subdomain or server name.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Host Integration Server 2000 and Host Integration Server 2000 SP1.
