FIX: Writeback on a Virtual Cube Does Not Always Work (810435)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services SP3

SYMPTOMS

If an underlying cube (or cubes) of a virtual cube is write-enabled, you can update virtual cube cells that are derived exclusively from the write-enabled cubes. However, writeback directly on a virtual cube cell only works when the cell belongs to the first one added to the underlying cube. If the writeback occurs on any cell that belongs to any cube other than the first one added to the virtual cube, the updated value is either incorrectly written, or recorded in the wrong measure column in the writeback table.
