Access Violation Occurs When You Try to Run Gpresult.exe (810394)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run the Gpresult.exe tool from the Microsoft Windows 2000 Resource Kit, an access violation may occur.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the logged-on user's distinguished name path (also known as the DN path) is set by a long name.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
