Message Queuing does not come online after an unexpected power failure (810383)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Windows XP, the Microsoft Message Queuing
service does not come online if corrupted message files exist in the Message
Queuing storage directory. An event log message is raised that identifies the
corrupted file. You must manually remove the corrupted file before the service can
start successfully.CAUSEWhen Message Queuing deletes a recoverable message, it does
not verify that the delete flag is persistent before returning the receive
call. Therefore, these messages may not return after a power failure, or the
message file may become corrupted.RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP.
