Dragging and Dropping Resources from Site Manager to Desktop May Not Work Correctly (810309)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Content Management Server 2002
SYMPTOMSWhen you use a drag-and-drop operation to export resources from Site Manager, you may notice unexpected results, or you may receive the following error message (or a similar one): Error Copying File or Folder - Cannot copy
file: Cannot read from the source file or disk. CAUSEYou can use a drag-and-drop operation in the current version of Site Manager only to
import resources. Some scenarios appear to work, but this is only a
side effect of the drag-and-drop implementation. The current version of Site Manager does not support the use of a drag-and-drop operation to export resources.WORKAROUNDTo export resources from the Content Management Server
repository, create a custom script by using the Publishing function of Content Management Server 2002. If
export/import is used to deploy the content to another Content Management Server repository (for example,
from a development environment to a staging or a production environment), use the Site Deployment Manager in Site
Manager.STATUS This
behavior is by design.
