This article was previously published under Q81831 SYMPTOMS
When saving or opening WordPerfect files to or from an MS-DOS disk with
Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, you may receive the following error
messages.
Opening WordPerfect Files from an MS-DOS Disk
"Error while converting! Internal Error!"
Saving WordPerfect Files to an MS-DOS Disk
"Error while Converting! Cannot open file!"
CAUSE
This can occur if you are using an Outbound computer. The Outbound is a
Macintosh clone portable.
Outbound Systems, Inc. has released an init called Dos.ini that allows MS-
DOS disks to be used in the Outbound drive.
According to Outbound Systems, Inc., the error message you receive in the
above situation is caused by special resource information that WordPerfect
files contain and the method the Dos.ini init uses to manage the MS-DOS
disk.
WORKAROUND
Outbound Systems, Inc. suggests using Apple File Exchange to transfer
WordPerfect files until this is resolved.
