Increasing the Maximum Number of Connections Under MS-DOS (78980)

Some LAN Manager version 2.0 users have increased the number of shares
they can connect to by raising the value of "numresources" in the
[workstation] section of LANMAN.INI. LAN Manager 2.1 does not have this
setting, and you must add the parameter back to the [workstation] section
of LANMAN.INI.
The default values are SESSIONS = 6, NCBS = 12. If you change either of
these values, you must preserve the 1:2 ratio of SESSIONS:NCBS.
In systems using NetBEUI protocol, the recommended method for increasing
the number of shares to connect to is to increase the values of SESSIONS
and NCBS in the [NETBEUI_XIF] section of PROTOCOL.INI instead.
If you change SESSIONS and NCBS, you must also set the LANMAN.INI
parameters NUMRESOURCES and NUMSERVERS to the same value as SESSIONS.
For a LAN Manager 2.1 MS-DOS workstation, you must add these parameters
to LANMAN.INI.
