The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 2.0
- Microsoft Works 2.0a
- Microsoft Works 3.0
This article was previously published under Q78796 SUMMARY
The error message "Too many rows or records" in Microsoft Works for
Windows is generated for the following reasons:
- You tried to open a text file as a Database or Spreadsheet file,
but Works for Windows found too many records.
Solution: Open the text file as a Word Processor document, split it
into smaller documents, and then open each document as a database
or spreadsheet file.
- You are inserting rows into the Spreadsheet (or records into the
Database) that cause the total number of rows (or records) to
exceed the maximum that Works for Windows allows. Works for Windows
allows a maximum of 16,384 rows in the Spreadsheet and 32,000
records in the Database.
Solution: If you delete a record or row of cells from the bottom,
then Works for Windows will allow you to insert a row or a column.
