This article was previously published under Q78733 SUMMARY
You may receive the following error message if a field placeholder has been
inserted in the Word Processor and the placeholder does not have a corresponding field in the Database or, in Works 2.0 or 3.0, if there is an
extra left chevron symbol before the placeholder:
Err Msg: Field Not Found In Database: "(fieldname)". Continue Anyway?
The "(fieldname)" will identify the field name that is in question.
If you click Yes, the print merge will continue with the fields to the right of the placeholder moving to the left to fill the empty section.
If the placeholder was the only item on that line, the blank line will
be suppressed and the text below will be moved up to fill the blank line.
To permanently correct the error:
- Ensure the proper database has been opened and chosen.
- Delete the placeholder and reinsert it by clicking Database
Field from the Insert menu.
