SYMPTOMS

When you try to print checks to a laser printer in Microsoft Money, you may receive a message that states that the print is finished, even if the checks are not printed.

You may also experience these symptoms when you attempt to run a print test from the Print Checks dialog box. However, when you print a report, the report is printed properly.

In addition, if you use Money 99 or later, you may receive the following error message:
Error #2922
This check style requires a tractor feed, but the printer you are using does not appear have one. Do you want to continue?

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you select Standard, Voucher, or Wallet checks in the Print Setup dialog box in Money, and then attempt to print your checks to a laser printer.

Continuous-feed checks are designed for dot-matrix printers.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, use only single-sheet checks when you print checks to a laser printer.

If you print checks to a dot-matrix printer, use continuous-feed checks.

Note The default check type in Money 3.0 is Standard, which is a continuous-feed type of check. If you want to print checks to a laser printer, you must select either Laser Standard, Laser Voucher, or Laser Wallet checks in the Print Setup dialog box in Money.
