The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft QuickBASIC 4.5
- Microsoft Basic Professional Development System for MS-DOS 7.0
- Microsoft Cinemania for Windows 1993 edition
This article was previously published under Q77735 SUMMARY
Certain printers may return an error 71, "Disk Not Ready," instead of
error 25, "Device Fault," when they are turned offline in the middle
of a print job. This behavior is printer dependent and may need to be
handled in addition to the normal printer errors if you wish to trap
all possible printer error conditions.
MORE INFORMATION
For example, the Okidata Microline 320 printer will return a "Disk Not
Ready" message when it is turned off during a print job. When using
this printer, error 71 is an additional error that could be generated
by the printer being offline.
