SUMMARY

Normally, double-clicking a Note-It object in a Works for Windows Word Processing document results in the Note-It message displaying. If the Note-It program appears instead of the message, it is likely that the REG.DAT file is corrupt, incomplete, or missing. To correct this situation, use the REGLOAD.EXE program to reregister Note-It as an OLE (object linking and embedding) server with the REG.DAT file.

The REGLOAD.EXE program must be given a filename parameter, specifying a file that contains the information to add to the REG.DAT file. The Setup program for Works for Windows supplies this file and puts it in the Windows directory along with the REGLOAD.EXE program and the REG.DAT file. The file is MSWORKS.REG.

To reregister Note-It as an OLE server:

  1. From the File menu in Program Manager, choose Run.
  2. In the Command Line text box, type the following and press ENTER:

    regload msworks.reg

A message should appear indicating that the information in MSWORKS.REG has been successfully registered.
