Compiling code that contains a FORMAT specifier that continues for more
than one line and which has an in-line comment delimited by the exclamation
point on or before the continued line causes one of the following:
warning F4989: '!' : unexpected character in format
warning F4989: 'c' : unexpected character in format
warning F4989: 'W' : unexpected character in format
warning F4989: 'k' : unexpected character in format
warning F4989: '[' : unexpected character in format
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed above.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft FORTRAN PowerStation 32, version
4.0.
