Using Subset of Database in a Print Merge (76766)
This article was previously published under Q76766
SUMMARY
There are two methods of using a subset of a database in a print
merge: hiding records and database query.
MORE INFORMATION
Hiding records allows you to hide individual records to exclude them
from a form letter or mailing labels. This method works well for
records that are not related so would not be hidden as a result of a
query. For more information about hiding database records, see page
247 of the "Works for Windows User's Guide."
Querying the database allows you to search for records containing
certain entries. Works will hide all of the records that do not match
your search or query instructions. This method is preferable to hiding
records if the records in the database can be grouped by similar data
in specific fields of the database. For more information about
querying a database, see page 272 in the "Works for Windows User's
Guide."
