SUMMARY

The Save Workspace command in Microsoft Works for Windows saves the size and position of the application window and all open, saved documents. These documents will be automatically opened in the same order the next time you run Works for Windows. Any documents that you made into icons will remain as icons. Works for Windows will start at the same location and size as it was when Save Workspace was last selected.

MORE INFORMATION

In Works 2.0 and 3.0 choose Save Workspace from the File menu to save the current workspace. In Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a, choose Options from the Tools menu and click the View Tab. In the Options dialog box for View you can click Save Workspace to save the current workspace.

In Works 2.0, if any documents are not saved when you choose Save Workspace, the following message is displayed:
You have not saved some documents in your workspace.
Press OK to Save Workspace excluding unsaved documents.
In Works 3.0, if any documents are not saved when you choose Save Workspace, the following message is displayed:
Workspace contains unsaved documents or documents which are not in Works 3.0 format. Continue?
Choose Cancel or press ESC, save all open documents you want in your workspace, and choose Save Workspace from the File menu.

NOTE: If you choose OK, you can still save the unsaved open documents, but they will not be in the saved workspace.

In Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a, if documents are not saved when you choose Save Workspace, you do not receive an error message. Instead, when you open Works after closing it, you will see the Task Launcher.

Only one workspace can be saved at a time; each time you choose Save Workspace, it replaces the previous workspace.
