SYMPTOMS

If your default printer is not capable of printing color when you place a chart in the Works Word Processor, the chart will preview and print in black and white. Your printer driver must have color-printing ability and you must select it before you create the chart in order for the chart to preview and print in color.

MORE INFORMATION

There are two metafiles associated with each chart that is pasted into a document; one is for screen representation, the other is for the printer output.

WORKAROUND

A workaround to this problem is to re-paste the chart after changing the printer:

  1. Select the correct printer, as follows.

In Works 2.0 or 3.0: From the File menu, choose Print Setup and choose the correct printer.

In Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a: On the File menu, click Print, select the correct printer, and then click Preview. Cancel the preview.
  2. Select the chart.
  3. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

NOTE: With Works 2.0, you may need to delete the chart first, so that you do not get two charts.
