SUMMARY

To troubleshoot printing problems with a Works for Windows spreadsheet, check the following:

In Works version 3.x for Windows check:

  1. Set Print Area. The Print Area is set incorrectly. To reset the Print Area to the entire spreadsheet, choose Select All from the Edit menu. From the Format menu, choose Set Print Area. Then choose OK to set the Print Area for the currect selection.
  2. Column and Rows are Hidden. Both column and rows can be hidden in and will not print. To unhide a column or row, from the Edit menu, choose Go To. In the GoTo box, type a cell of the column or row that is hidden (i.e. H7) and choose OK. Then from the Format menu, select Column Width (if column hidden) or Row Height (if row hidden). Next, enter a value in the Width or Height box (the default column width is 10 and the default row height is 12) or select Best Fit and choose OK.
  3. Printer Driver. If the spreadsheet displays correctly in Print Preview, but does not print correctly, check the printer driver.
In Works version 2.x for Windows check:

  1. Set Print Area. The Set Print Area command can be inadvertently chosen because it is close to the Print command in the File menu. Works 2.0a for Windows will warn you that the Print Area is being changed. Works 2.00 for Windows will not.

To reset the Print Area to the entire spreadsheet choose All from the Select menu. From the File menu, choose Set Print Area.
  2. Columns are hidden. Hidden columns will not print. To unhide a column, from the Select menu, choose Go To. In the GoTo box, type the letter of the column that is hidden followed by a 1 (i.e. H1) and choose OK. Then, from the Format menu, choose Column Width. Next, enter a value in the Width box (The default width is 10) and choose OK.
  3. Printer Driver. If the spreadsheet displays correctly in Print Preview, but does not print correctly, check the printer driver.
