SUMMARY

Works uses Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2 format. Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3 has a translation utility that enables you to convert Works files to Lotus Release 2 format. This program does not translate the formulas that are new to Release 3 or that are linked to another file.

MORE INFORMATION

The new formulas in Release 3 are as follows.
 Database Date Logical Special Statistic Financial Mathematical
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------

 @DGET     @D360 @ISRANGE  @COORD   @STDS      @VDB       @SUMPRODUCT
 @DQUERY                   @INFO    @VARS
 @DSTDS                    @SHEETS
 @DVARS

The Lotus translation program provides the option to save the Release 3 formulas as labels or add-ins. If saved as add-ins, the Release 3 formulas appear as "ERR."

If saved as labels, the Release 3 formulas appear in Works as text for all versions of Works for MS-DOS and Works for Windows.

Works 2.0 for Windows

If saved as add-ins, the Release 3 formulas appear as
Formula ignored: not valid: <cell reference>. Continue to display errors?"
Works 2.0 may not display "ERR;" instead it may display an incorrect or very large number.

Works 3.0 for Windows

If saved as add-ins, the Release 3 formulas appear as
Formula ignored <cell reference>. Continue to display errors? While opening the file, Works found a formula that was too long, too complex, or contained a function which is not supported."
Works 3.0 will display "ERR."

Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95

If saved as add-ins, the Release 3 formulas appear as
Problem with formula <cell reference>. The formula is too long or too complex, or contains a function that is not supported.
Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95 will display "ERR."
