Importing .PCC Files into Paintbrush 4.00 (66769)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS 4.0
- Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS
- Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS 2.0
This article was previously published under Q66769 SUMMARY
You can load .PCC files created in Microsoft Paintbrush version 1.0
or 2.0 into Microsoft Paintbrush version 4.0. The .PCC files can be
imported into an open Paintbrush drawing area using the Paste From
command in the Edit Menu.
Paintbrush 4.0 does not mention .PCC extensions. However, it can load
.PCC extensions if you specify this extension in the filename. If you
do not specify the .PCC extension, Paintbrush adds the extension
specified in the Image Format box, either .PCX or .TIF. This causes a
"File not found" error message.
The .PCC file can be correctly imported if you know the path and
filename of the .PCC file. You must type the complete path into the
Filename box before selecting the Paste command.
MORE INFORMATION
With Paintbrush 4.0, you can load both .PCC and small .PCX files with
the Open command. This generates a small image in the upper left
corner of the Paintbrush screen with a limited drawing area. To make a
larger drawing area, the image must be pasted into a drawing area the
size and width specified in the Create a New Image dialog box.
