Macintosh QuickBASIC Can't Compile in MultiFinder's Background (36079)
This article was previously published under Q36079
SUMMARY
QuickBASIC Version 1.00 for Macintosh cannot compile in the background
under Apple MultiFinder. QuickBASIC can compile in the foreground
under MultiFinder; however, compilation will be slower than in the
Finder due to the time slicing between foreground and background
processes.
Applications compiled in QuickBASIC can be run in the background of
Apple MultiFinder. Those applications that do minimal screen
refreshing will run the best in the background of MultiFinder. The
processes running in the background will receive small amounts of time
from the system. However, this small amount of time may not be enough
to refresh the screen. The background process may jump into the
foreground and try to process the screen refresh commands.
