SYMPTOMS

You may receive a scheduling conflict message when you try to recalculate a project. This behavior occurs when you create a circular reference with cross-project links (dependencies), and you then correct the circular reference.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Project 2002 and Microsoft Project Server 2002. To resolve this problem you must install the latest service pack for both the Microsoft Project 2002 client and the Microsoft Project 2002 server.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Project 2002 Service Pack 1 and Project Server 2002 Service Pack 1.
