SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft OWC 10 Spreadsheet component may display an unspecified error when multiple instances are run on multiple threads on a multi-processor system. When you automate multiple instances of the Microsoft Office XP Spreadsheet component, one or more instances may receive an error when using the HTMLData property to get or to set HTML data. This occurs if those instances are permitted to run simultaneously. The exact error message may vary depending on the circumstance, but the most common error message follows:

0x80004005 (-2147467259) : Unspecified error

CAUSE

Converting the spreadsheet data to and from HTML can allow concurrent access to global items that are not fully protected in a multi-processor environment.
