FIX: XLANG Scheduler and the Message Queueing Service Consume 100 Percent of the System CPU (331076)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002

This article was previously published under Q331076

SYMPTOMS

When correlation and dehydration occur in a schedule instance, XLANG Scheduler and the Message Queueing service (Mqsvc.exe) consume 100 percent of the system CPU. Also, schedule instances that may stay in the queue for a long time even if the correlation ID arrives (that is, the dehydrated schedule instances are not rehydrated at the correct time).

CAUSE

When a message arrives, a dehydrated schedule instance takes the message from the queue. If the message is not destined for that specific schedule instance, the instance closes the queue and reopens the queue as long as the message is in the queue. This behavior causes the instance to loop indefinitely because the message notification is enabled for the same message.
