XCCC: "Server Error 1904" Error Message When You Try to Install the SSL Support Component of Web Access (330359)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the SSL Support component of Web Access in Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Exchange\Conferencing Server\xcmsadm.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147024770

CAUSE

This issue may occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed.

    -and-
  • Only the following Conferencing Server options are installed:
    • Conference Web Access
    • SSL Support

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, first install Exchange 2000 System Manager on the member server, and then install the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server Conference Manager component.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
