XADM: Poor Performance When Network Adapter Is Set to Auto Sense (330343)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
This article was previously published under Q330343 SYMPTOMS After you install Exchange 2000 Server, the performance may
be lower than you expect. CAUSE This problem may occur if your network adapter driver is
set to automatically detect network speed. The network adapter driver may set
the speed to 10 megabits per second (Mbps) even if the network operates at a
faster speed, and the network adapter can match it.
RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, manually change the network
adapter speed to match the network speed:
- Click Start, point to
Settings, and then click Network and Dial-up
Connections.
- Right-click the local area connection that corresponds to
the network adapter that you want to modify, and then click
Properties.
- Click the General tab, and then click
Configure.
- On the Property list, click the
Advanced tab, and then click NetworkMedia
.
- In the Value box, click the speed that you
want to use.
- Click the Full Duplex option, and then
click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
