SYMPTOMS

When you try to schedule a conference by using a new resource in the Web Conferencing Scheduler, you may receive the following error message:
The Exchange Conferencing Service encountered a server error. Please try the following: Contact your system administrator. Sending the message Error #8004103F: Unable to schedule the specified conference. Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the newly-created resource is mailbox-enabled. When a mailbox-enabled account is created in Active Directory, it must be processed by both Active Directory and the Exchange Recipient Update Service (RUS) before you can use it. While the RUS is processing the mailbox-enabled account, Active Directory is also processing the changes to create the account. After the Active Directory completes processing the account, an internal timer is set to re-check the resource after five minutes to permit the RUS to finish processing the mailbox. During this five minute period, the newly-created account is not available to the Web Conferencing Scheduler.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, wait five minutes, and then schedule the resource.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
