XCCC: User Who Is Not Meeting Organizer Can Join Meeting as Organizer (330331)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server
This article was previously published under Q330331 SYMPTOMS The Exchange 2000 Conferencing Web Scheduler may permit a
user to join a meeting as the organizer of the meeting, even though that user
is not the organizer of the meeting. Therefore, the user may be able to
change the meeting properties.
NOTE: This issue affects permissions only for the meeting. This
permissions issue does not extend beyond the meeting in Exchange 2000
Conferencing Server. CAUSE This issue may occur if both of the following conditions
are true:
- The organizer of the meeting has the same user name as the
second user who can join the meeting as the meeting organizer.
- The second user (who can join the meeting as the meeting
organizer) belongs to a parent domain or child domain of the domain that the
organizer of the meeting belongs to. For example:
- The meeting organizer has the following user logon
name: someone@example.com
- The second user (who can join the meeting as the
meeting organizer) has the following user logon name:
someone@childdomain.example.com
STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
