Hotfix Information
A supported fix is now
available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem
described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this
specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing to further ensure
product quality. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem,
Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Office XP service
pack that contains this fix.

Important Under certain circumstances, Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 is
required before you apply the Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
client-side hotfix. Use the following information to determine if you have to
install Windows Installer 2.0:

You may have a problem applying a hotfix that is released
after Office XP SP2 if all the following conditions are true:
- The organization is using Windows Installer

- If you installed Office XP by using a CD image, you may

Note If you have updated your administrative installation point of
