Output from XOVER Command Omits the "From" Field Data from the Display of Article Headers (329908)

This article was previously published under Q329908 SYMPTOMS When you use the Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP)
extension XOVER command, the output from this command may remove data in the
From field. All the other article header fields are correctly
generated and displayed. CAUSE This problem may occur if the newsgroup messages are posted
by a Microsoft Outlook user who is acting as a delegate.
RESOLUTION A
supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems
that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this
problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a

fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table.
The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time
(UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To
find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time
Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Because of file dependencies, this fix requires Exchange Server 5.5
Service Pack 4.
WORKAROUND When you compose the item to be posted in Outlook, select
the address for the From field from the global address list
(GAL) instead of typing it. The From field of the item is then
displayed correctly when viewed with the XOVER command. When you clear the
Automatic name checking check box under Advanced E-mail
Options in Outlook, the posted item is correctly recognized by XOVER.
