Performance of Microsoft Commerce Server-based Programs May Degrade Over Time
CAUSE This issue may occur if you are running BlackICE Protection
3.5cbq. There is a conflict between the 316430
hotfix and BlackICE Protection 3.5cbq. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Restart the computer in Safe Mode:
- Restart the computer.
- Press F8 when Windows begins to start.
- In Windows Advanced Option Menu, use the arrow keys to
select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
- If you are running other operating systems on the
computer, use the arrow keys to select the installation of Windows 2000 that
you want to repair in the list that appears, and then press ENTER.
- Remove the Q316430 hotfix:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Windows 2000 Hotfix (Pre-SP3)[See Q316430
for more information], and then click Change/Remove.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the
removal of the package.
- Restart the computer and install the latest BlackICE patch.
