SYMPTOMS

When you close a Word 2002 document that contains an embedded Word document object, and then you save the document after you receive the following prompt

Do you want to save the changes to filename?

the embedded Word document may convert to graphics.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
  1. You click the Close button [x] that is located in the upper-right corner of the document window to close the document.
  2. You save the document in Word 6.0/95 format.

RESOLUTION
