SYMPTOMS

An error is reported when the Active Directory Service Interface (ADSI) MoveHere function in Windows 2000 runs against a third-party Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if a Windows 2000 client passes the full DistinguishedName (DN) in the LDAP request, instead of the relative DN. Some LDAP servers do not support the full DN.

STATUS
