PRB: BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility Install Issues (329785)

SYMPTOMS

The BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility has an initial version number of 1.0.0.17. This initial version is a per-user installation. All BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility versions that were released after this are per-computer installations.

If you install a BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility version later than 1.0.0.17 on a computer that already has version 1.0.0.17 installed by another user, you may experience unexpected behavior. For example, the binaries may not be upgraded, and two shortcuts to the BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility may be created on the Start menu of the user who installed version 1.0.0.17.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove the BizTalk Adapter Trace Utility before you install a later version of the utility.
