ColdFusion MX: ColdFusion Server Displays the Wrong Page When Installed on Multihomed Web Servers (329783)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0
- Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0
This article was previously published under Q329783 We strongly recommend that all users upgrade to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0 running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003. IIS 6.0 significantly increases Web infrastructure security. For more information about IIS security-related topics, visit the following Microsoft Web site: SYMPTOMS
If Macromedia ColdFusion MX Server is installed on multihomed Web servers (that is, Web servers with two or more virtual Web roots), and if multiple files have the same name in each virtual Web root (for example, if an Index.cfm file exists in several of the virtual Web roots), the first file that is loaded will appear for all virtual Web roots instead of the correct file for each virtual Web root.
CAUSE
A performance tuning setting in the file at Cfusionmx/Runtime/Servers/Default/Server-inf/Jrun.xml enables single virtual Web sites to run a little faster, but it causes multihomed servers, in certain cases, to display the wrong page.
