SNACFG Cannot Configure Syncpoint on Remote APPC Logical Unit (329743)

SYMPTOMS

On Host Integration Server 2000, there is no way to configure syncpoint support on a Remote APPC logical unit (LU) by using the command line configuration utility, Snacfg.exe.

WORKAROUND

To work around this, configure syncpoint support on a Remote APPC LU by using either the SNA Manager application, or programmatically by means of Windows Management Instrumentation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 SP1.

MORE INFORMATION

Beginning with Host Integration Server 2000, you can configure syncpoint support on both Remote APPC LUs and Local APPC LUs. In earlier versions, you can configure syncpoint support only on Local APPC LUs.
