"LsaOpenPolicySce Could Not Be Located" Error Message When You Use QChain.exe to Install Hotfixes (329720)

SYMPTOMS

When you use QChain.exe to install multiple post-Service Pack 2 (SP2) hotfixes at one time to your Windows 2000 Server installation, you may receive the following error message after you restart your computer:
Services.exe: Entry point not found.
The procedure entry point LsaOpenPolicySce could not be located in the dynamic link library advapi32.dll.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if an incorrect version of the Advapi32.dll file is located in the System32 folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the most recent Windows 2000 service pack to make sure that you have the correct version of the Advapi32.dll file installed.
