This article was previously published under Q329711

SYMPTOMS

When you run a Systems Management Server (SMS) Installer version 2.0.148.0 script that performs an "Edit Registry" action to update the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT registry hive, the keys may be incorrectly written to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive. This problem may occur if more than one key is being updated and if the script is compiled as an .msi package. This issue does not occur if the script is compiled as an .exe file.
