"STOP" Error Messages in Qafilter.sys or Qsfilter.sys with Third-Party Quota Management Tool (329703)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
This article was previously published under Q329703 SYMPTOMS On your Windows 2000-Server based computer, you may receive
one or more STOP error messages on a blue screen that are similar to the
following: STOP 0x000000D1 (0x00000014, 0x00000002,
0x00000000, 0xf195a3f2) Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal STOP:0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0x80219A0B, 0x00000000, 0x00000060)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED STOP 0x00000050
STOP 0x000000C5 STOP 0x0000000A STOP 0x000000C4
NOTE: The parameter values may be different on your computer, but a
memory analysis in a dump file indicates that the error messages are based in
either the Qafilter.sys or Qsfilter.sys files. CAUSE This behavior may occur if all the following conditions
exist:
- The WQuinn "QuotaAdvisor" or Northern Parklife "Quota
Server" disk-quota-management programs are installed on your
computer.
- The driver file for the quota management program is
outdated.
NOTE: The driver for QuotaAdvisor is Qafilter.sys, and the driver for
Quota Server is Qsfilter.sys. RESOLUTION To troubleshoot and resolve this behavior, remove or
disable the quota-management program to verify that the program is the cause of
the STOP error messages, and then contact the program vendor to inquire about
the availability of an update that may resolve this issue.
