SUMMARY

This article describes best practices to avoid site deployment import related errors.

MORE INFORMATION

Verify that the .rop file that you have created in the export process has the following characteristics:
  • The file is 100 MB or less.
  • The sum of all .xml files in the .rop file is less than 6 MB.
NOTE: To determine the size of .xml files in the .rop file, rename the .rop file with a .cab file name extension. Content Management Server (CMS) 2001 uses the CAB Manager to package the files that are required for import.

When you are importing or exporting, do the following:
  • Do not permit authoring during the import or export process.
  • Do not perform background processing during the import or export process.
  • Save .rop files in a local folder instead of in a storage device that has a local mapping.
