FIX: Property_Content_Type Is Set to 0 in Local Cube When You Use the CREATE GLOBAL CUBE Statement (329480)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services

This article was previously published under Q329480
BUG #: 13557 (PLATO7X)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the CREATE GLOBAL CUBE statement, the Property_Content_Type value for member properties is not preserved in the new local cube.

Client applications use the Property_Content_Type value to determine the type of data that the member property contains. Client applications can use this to format the value, place it in a specific field on the screen or otherwise perform special operations. While it is possible to create a local cube with the correct Property_Content_Types value by using the SQL style CREATE CUBE statement, the SQL style syntax has some limitations that prevent it from being used in more complex cubes.
