End User Update 2.0 or Adaptation Kit Update 3.0 Causes Pocket PC 2002-Based Device to Wake Up (329426)

SYMPTOMS

If either of the following conditions exist, your Pocket PC 2002-based device may unexpectedly wake five to six minutes after a successful Microsoft ActiveSync connection and after you turn off the device:
  • You have applied the End User Update version 2.0 to your Pocket PC 2002-based device.
  • Your Pocket PC 2002-based device has a ROM image that was built with the Adaptation Kit Update version 3.0 that was applied to the base Adaptation Kit.
One to three minutes after this occurs, your Pocket PC 2002-based device goes back to sleep and does not wake up again.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if Connection Manager does not remove the timer after it is canceled.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem turn off the server automatic synchronization option under the ActiveSync - Schedule option.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
