SYMPTOMS

When you are running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer, the computer may stop responding and error messages that are similar to the following are logged in the application event log:Event Type: Error

Computer: Computer_Name
Description: Information Store (2032) be2d93b0-4278-40dc-8b7b-2fd374297c31: The version store for this instance (0) has reached its maximum size of 202Mb. It is likely that a long-running transaction is preventing cleanup of the version store and causing it to build up in size. Updates will be rejected until the long-running transaction has been completely committed or rolled back.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, restart the Information Store service (Store.exe).
