SYMPTOMS

When you install a removable universal serial bus (USB) storage device, Microsoft Windows 2000 may not detect and configure the device as expected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Win32_LogicalDiskToPartition class in Windows 2000 may not recognize USB storage devices.

RESOLUTION
