Cannot Sustain Connection Using PPP Over Ethernet (329340)

SYMPTOMS

When using PPP over ethernet (PPPoE), the connection does not establish, or is successfully established and dropped a short time later.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because an attempt is made to negotiate PPP Asynchronous-Control-Character-Map (ACCM) and Address and Control Field Compression (ACFC), which may cause the connection to drop with some servers.

Do not use ACCM and ACFC negotiation with PPPoE.

RESOLUTION

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 4.1 Core OS QFE Q329340. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
