This article was previously published under Q329331 SUMMARYThis article discusses the software requirements (and the
optional software configurations) that you must have to successfully implement
the Microsoft Solution for Internet Business Version 2. There are three
different configurations, as follows:
- Dev (For your developement environment, which would have
the software installed on a single computer)
- BRAC (The base deployment uses a computer running ISA
Server as a firewall to separate and protect the Web servers from the Internet.
Each Web server has two network adapters: one for client communication, and one
for cluster management and database communication.)
- ERAC (The enterprise deployment is basically an expansion
of the base deployment, but has increased security, manageability,
availability, and scalability. You can include additional servers to reduce the
single points of failure in your system and to improve performance. The
enterprise deployment includes an additional firewall between the Web and data
tiers, and separate domain controllers for each tier.)
NOTE: Not all components are installed on all the computers of the BRAC
and ERAC implementations, the respective role of the server is listed in italic text. Install the products in the order in which they are listed. For
detailed instructions about which products to install on which computers, see
the deployment documentation that is included with the solution.
