Exchange Sends Storage Limit Warning E-Mail Message Every 15 Minutes (329275)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q329275 SYMPTOMS In Exchange 2000 Mailbox Manager, you can schedule the time
that storage-warning limits are sent to users. This is configured in Exchange
System Manager by viewing the properties of your storage limit system policy.
During this time, users may receive four messages that warn them that their
limit has been reached. CAUSE By default, the warning message interval is set to an
hourly view. However, Exchange 2000 Server reads this information as if it were
in 15 minute segments. Because the whole hour is selected, the server sends
four messages. It is a problem that the GUI for Exchange System Manager
displays the hourly view instead of the 15-minute view.RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, set the detailed view in Exchange
System Manager to 15 minutes, and then select one block of time instead of the
four blocks of time that are initially selected. After you do so, only one
message is sent during the designated warning message interval. STATUS Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
